HSA Bank Health & Wealth Index
Helping people succeed tomorrow starts with knowing where they stand today. Since 2018, our annual HSA Bank Health & Wealth IndexSM has offered a snapshot of how Americans are engaging with their physical health and finances — plus our insights and recommendations for employers.
2022 Index
In our fifth annual report, we look at healthcare consumers’ decisions and engagement during the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic. New this year, we also evaluate consumers' engagement with their mental wellness.
Drop in average score
The average index score dropped from 62.4 to 56.6 over the Index’s five-year history, possibly due to challenges of the pandemic.
Lack of confidence
One in three consumers feels uncertain in their ability to cover future healthcare costs, but employers may be able to help turn this around.
Healthy lifestyle changes
More than three out of four consumers made healthy lifestyle changes in the past year. While this is encouraging, there’s still room to improve.
