Getting Started with Apple Pay

On your iPhone® 6 or later2, open the Wallet app, and tap the plus sign to add your HSA Bank Health Benefits Debit Card to Apple Pay by following the simple instructions. On your iPad®, go to "Settings," open "Wallet & Apple Pay," and tap "Add Credit or Debit Card." For Apple Watch®, go to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone 5 or later and tap "Wallet & Apple Pay." Then tap "Add a New Credit or Debit Card."

Position the HSA Bank Health Benefits Debit Card in the camera frame to automatically enter your card information. Next, enter the security code, which can be found on the back of your debit card, and accept the terms and conditions.

Start using Apple Pay to make payments in apps or by holding your device near a contactless reader and authorizing with TouchID or FaceID.

HSA Bank mobile payment options, like those associated with your HSA Bank Health Benefits Debit Card, will work only at places that provide IRS-eligible healthcare services (such as doctor’s offices, hospitals, pharmacies, dentist’s offices, and vision centers) and can be used only for IRS-eligible healthcare expenses. Apple Pay is available in merchant mobile apps, at more than a million stores and restaurants, and online via the Safari browser. View the list of merchants at the Apple Pay site.

Please Note: Per the terms of your account, you can only use your HSA Health Benefits Debit Card at places that offer IRS-eligible health care products and services. These include doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, dentists, and vision providers.

Apple Pay is supported on the following devices: iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone SE, iPad Pro, iPad (5th generation), iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3, Apple Watch Series 2, Apple Watch Series 1, Apple Watch (1st generation), MacBook Pro with Touch ID, a Mac model introduced in 2012 or later with an Apple-Pay-enabled iPhone or Apple Watch.

If you added your debit card to Apple Pay, the ability to make payments using Apple Pay on the device is suspended when you put your device in Lost mode. You can also go to your Apple ID account page or use the Find My iPhone app to suspend or permanently remove the ability to pay from that device with Apple Pay.

Getting Started with Samsung Pay

Phone:3 During the initial Samsung Pay setup, when prompted, tap "ADD" at the bottom of the screen to access options for adding your card. (You will need to make sure your compatible Samsung device is updated with Samsung Pay.)

Smartwatch:4 Install the Samsung Gear app on your phone. Once installed, launch Samsung Gear on your phone and tap "Samsung Pay." Next, tap "Add Card."

Position the HSA Bank Health Benefits Debit Card in the camera frame to automatically enter your card information, or you can manually enter your card details. Then enter your card’s three-digit security code and accept the card terms and conditions.

Provide all additional information to verify and activate your card. Your card is now ready for use with Samsung Pay. Secure it with your fingerprint and backup PIN and you’ll be ready to go.

Samsung Pay works almost anywhere you can swipe or tap your card.3 You can also make in-app purchases in participating apps.

Getting Started with Google Pay

During the initial Google Pay setup on your mobile device, when prompted, tap “Add payment method” at the bottom of the screen to access options for adding your card.

You can either manually enter your card details, or tap “Scan Card” and position your HSA Bank Health Benefits Debit Card in the camera frame to have your card details automatically entered. Tap “Save.” Now you’re ready to use Google Pay.

HSA Bank mobile payment options, like those associated with your HSA Bank Health Benefits Debit Card, will work only at places that provide IRS-eligible healthcare services (such as doctor’s offices, hospitals, pharmacies, dentist’s offices, and vision centers) and can be used only for IRS-eligible healthcare expenses. Google Pay is accepted at millions of stores, apps, and websites. If a store accepts contactless payments, you can pay with your phone. Visit the Google Pay site to learn more.

Google Pay works on desktop, tablets, and phones running Android 5.0+ or iOS 8.0+.

Google Pay requires you to set a screen lock and unlock for most purchases. The screen lock helps prevent fraud if you lose your phone. Visit the Google Pay site to learn more.
